NC Tree Farm Program to Offer Several Workshops in the Fall

The North Carolina Tree Farm program will be hosting several workshops this fall...

TREE FARM INSPECTORS/CERTIFIER TRAINING WORKSHOP, SEPTEMBER 14, 2010…This workshop is designed for foresters who would like to be certified Tree Farm Inspectors.  The workshop will be conducted at the Roaring River Volunteer Fire Department from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.   Please call Steve Cox at 336-374-4677 to reserve a spot.  The workshop is being sponsored by Louisiana-Pacific at Roaring River and Weyerhaeuser.  Lunch will be served.  The workshop is FREE.   

GENETICS AND SILVICULTURE WORKSHOP, OCTOBER 5, 2010…This workshop is for forest landowners and will be conducted by Steve McKeand and Lee Allen at the Hofmann Forests from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Ashley Faircloth and members of the Croatan Chapter SAF will be assisting with the workshop.  The workshop is being sponsored by the North Carolina Farm Bureau and the Hulka Family Foundation.  Lunch will be served.  The workshop is FREE.   

NC TREE FARM ANNUAL MEETING, OCTOBER 26-27, 2010…The North Carolina Tree Farm Program’s Annual Meeting will take place at the Pinehurst Resort on October 26-27, 2010.  The meeting will feature a field tour of the Blue Farm in Hoke County.
