N.C. Tree Farm Program Annual Meeting
The N.C. Tree Farm Program will hold it’s 2019 Annual Meeting on Oct. 17 at Jordan Lumber Company in Mt. Gilead. We’ll tour Jordan’s state-of-the art sawmill while it’s in operation and learn about the sustainable forest management practices on the company’s 73,000 acres of timberland that have led to a 200% increase in yield per acre of the past 20 years. After the mill and woods tours, we’ll enjoy lunch together and celebrate the accomplishments of our Tree Farmers and volunteers. We’ll recognize Tree Farm anniversaries, and name the Inspector of the Year and Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year.
