DESCRIPTION:Explore the fascinating world of fungi during a walk in the woods on October 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Lower Haw River State Natural Area (Near the Haw River between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro).  Fungi include yeasts\, rusts\, smuts\, mildews\, molds\, and mushrooms.  Fungi are everywhere\, helping to break down organic matter.  Learn more about the fungus among us! Our walk will be led by Dr. Van Cotter\, fungi expert at Duke University and consultant with the North Carolina Botanical Garden.  Pre-registration is required by contacting lowerhawevents@gmail.com with “Fungi” in the subject line.
