SUMMARY:NC Bradford Pear Bounty
DESCRIPTION:Participants who remove their Bradford Pear Trees can receive a free\, native replacement tree. One tree given for each tree removed\, up to 5. Before and after pictures of the Bradford Pear trees you cut down must be shown to organizers at the pick-up to receive replacement trees. Note\, this program is geared toward homeowners/landowners. Trees should never be removed from property without the owner’s permission. \nReplacement trees will be in 3 gallon pots. There are 200 trees available. First come\, first served. Some examples of native trees that have been distributed in the past include redbud\, dogwood\, serviceberry\, black cherry and white oak. Those who RSVP will receive a list as the pick-up date draws near. \nThe exchange is free and open to the public\, but pre-registration is required to ensure tree pick-up runs smoothly.

DESCRIPTION:Join a park ranger at the Flytrap Trail for a hike along the trails. We will discuss the different types of carnivorous plants we have at the park\, including the Venus flytrap. \nAlso\, learn about different habitats that exist within Carolina Beach State Park and how each habitat affects the plants and animals that call the park home. \nMeet at the Flytrap Trail parking area at the end of Nature Trail Lane. \nThis is an outside program. The trail is wheelchair accessible.
