DESCRIPTION:All unlicensed sportsmen and sportswomen must successfully complete a hunter education course before they can hunt in North Carolina or purchase a hunting license. This course covers hunter responsibility\, wildlife conservation and management\, firearms\, wildlife identification\, survival and first aid\, specialty hunting\, and tree stand safety. The course is accepted in every state and province in North America. There is no minimum age requirement for the course. This course is offered over a two-day period. DESCRIPTION:Project Learning Tree® (PLT) and PINEMAP have partnered to develop a secondary module on climate change impacts on southern forest ecosystems\, the role of forests in sequestering carbon\, and strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to changing climatic conditions. The module is designed for use in life science\, environmental science\, and agriculture courses in grades 9-12\, with potential use in middle school or community college courses.
