Certified Tree Farm Inspectors are the backbone of the N.C. Tree Farm Program. They help maintain the integrity of the program by ensuring that the certification standards are upheld. They volunteer hundreds of hours each year enrolling forest landowners in the program, offering landowners advice on forest management, helping with field tours and forestry workshops, serving on committees and on the N.C. Tree Farm Program’s board of directors. Without them, the N.C. Tree Farm Program would not exist.
Each year, we recognize one inspector who has made a significant contribution to the N.C. Tree Farm Program through outreach to landowners, leadership and support of the certification system. We also present Hardhat Awards to our most active inspectors when they enroll 25 and 50 forest landowners in the program.
