June 28, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

The Virginia Opossum, North America’s only marsupial, is common throughout much of North America. Even though this animal is probably living near most people, most do not really know this animal. Through the lens of a trail camera, Jerry Reynolds will show you the secret life of the Opossum and how amazing they really are.

Jerry Reynolds is Head of Outreach for the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. His museum career includes 20 years at Discovery Place Science Museum in Charlotte, 3 years at Imagination Station Science museum in Wilson and now 19 years in his present position. He has BS and MS degrees in Zoology from North Carolina State University. His masters research was a mark recapture study of the scarlet snake in Carolina Beach State Park, where he lived for two summers in the park’s campground to conduct his research.
