Performance Measure 3.1 Guidance for Forest Management Plans

When a forest management plan prescribes a timber harvest, the plan must also include information about reforestation. Be sure that the plan addresses:

• Site preparation
• Timing of reforestation after harvest
• Method of reforestation, i.e. natural regeneration or planting
• Desired tree species for reforestation
• Desired stocking level
